Healthcare Struggles in Sri Lanka

Annually, Sri Lanka sees over 3000 children born with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD), with more than 650 tragically succumbing before their first birthday. The cost of heart surgeries in private hospitals, ranging from 1,000,000 to 1,500,000 Rupees, is unaffordable for families. Moreover, 30 years of civil war, natural disasters, and economic crisis have left Sri Lanka vulnerable, severely limiting access to healthcare.
